THE STORY

Born from JamaisVulgaire expertise

JamaisVulgaire was born in 2012 from a simple observation: classic menswear was poorly explained, poorly advised, and overpriced. Not because of the materials or the craftsmanship, but because of a chain of middlemen inflating costs without adding anything to the product. We decided to test things ourselves: hundreds of brands put through rigorous editorial scrutiny that nobody else was doing. No partnerships, no paid placements, no concessions. The result: a community of over 300,000 enthusiasts built over 14 years on the strength of our recommendations alone.

That independence is our DNA. No brand dictates our voice. No ad budget, no influencer deal shapes our choices. Visiting dozens of ateliers across Europe, we discovered a paradox: the finest artisans often work in the shadows, producing for brands that spend more on generic photoshoots and Meta advertising than on raw materials. Quality leather often accounts for less than half the final price.

The Workshop was born from that. 14 years in the field, hundreds of products tested in hand, and a network of ateliers that nobody else knows as well. We stripped away everything that doesn’t make the garment better: massive ad campaigns, multi-layer distribution margins, oversized collections, disproportionate image costs, production errors passed on to the final price. And we reinvested where it counts: better fabrics, more attention to cut, higher execution standards, more rational production. The result: exceptional pieces priced for the materials and the craft, nothing else.

Our lifestyle visuals are curated editorial visualisations, supervised by 14 years of textile and styling expertise. The starting point is always the real product, never a fantasy. The goal: show you the garment in context, faithfully. These visuals don’t replace the product: they extend how you read it. No €75-per-photo studio on pre-production samples, no surprises at delivery.

Made-to-measure for all

Every piece is available in your exact measurements. Working directly with the artisan, made-to-measure is no longer a prohibitive extra but a natural option.

Built to last

Raw materials and logistics keep getting more expensive. Brands built on 50% overhead have two choices: raise prices or cut quality. We built a lighter brand so we could make more serious garments. Our 300K-strong community replaces the marketing budget. When leather prices go up, we absorb it. When a competitor raises prices, we hold ours.
